Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a clear vision and strategy for your category, ensuring alignment with company-wide objectives and market dynamics.
- Build, onboard, and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive successful partnerships and business growth.
- Lead high-level negotiations to secure optimal contract terms, ensuring maximum value for the company and profitability for your category.
- Analyze data to provide insightful forecasts, recommendations, and action plans for key retail performance indicators, projects, and initiatives that foster category expansion.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market changes, and supplier performance, adapting sourcing strategies to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Leverage advanced analytics to manage product demand, sales data, and inventory, optimizing stock levels and preventing both overstocking and stockouts.
- Continuously assess and refine current processes to improve efficiency and foster innovation within your category.
- Collaborate with platform, marketing, and operations teams to ensure category strategies align with overall business goals, driving success.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and address any issues to maintain strong, productive partnerships.
- Partner with local and regional teams to cultivate a collaborative environment that supports category performance.
- Act as a trusted thought partner, exploring and capitalizing on new opportunities to innovate and accelerate category growth.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience as a Category Manager, Strategy Consultant, Product Manager, or in Retail Buying, preferably with experience in offline retail.
- Strong analytical skills with a creative and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and organizational tasks.
- A proactive and collaborative team player with the ability to lead by example, stepping into a hands-on role when needed.
- High attention to detail, with a focus on process optimization and improvement.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, dynamic work environment.
- Strong teamwork skills and an "activator" mindset, driving execution of plans across the organization.
