Grok Global Services is looking for a talented, dedicated professional to be a Jakarta-based Education Consultant supporting Enterprise Ireland via Grok’s Program Office service. Working as part of the Education in Ireland team in the ASEAN region, the successful candidate will have responsibility for the development and growth of the Indonesian market for Irish Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) operating under the ‘Education in Ireland’ national brand.

Role Purpose:
In line with the international education strategy and the focus on developing the Education in Ireland brand in ASEAN markets, Enterprise Ireland is looking to appoint an Education Consultant in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The role will involve highlighting key areas of opportunity for the HEIs while addressing the various barriers to development / growth. It will involve working both one-on-one and with the broader ‘Education in Ireland’ cluster to accelerate our efforts in the region to develop long-term partnerships.
The appointed education consultant will be expected to deliver on agreed ambitious targets leading to increased opportunities and collaborative partnerships for the markets.
Key Deliverables:
Market Intelligence
- The service provider will develop and manage a database on behalf of Education in Ireland, with contact details of all key stakeholders in the market. This will include relevant government bodies, reputable agents, higher education institutions, and international schools.
- Actively manage relationships with valuable partners in the country.
- Compile a detailed list and overview of current education partnerships or research collaborations between Irish HEIs and their counterparts in the country.
- Keep abreast of changes in the competitive offer of other countries and higher education systems in the region that may impact student mobility to Ireland.
- Submit monthly activity reports to Enterprise Ireland, indicating progress against targets and projects.
Media
- Develop a database of media contacts who are actively engaged with, to ensure maximum coverage for Education in Ireland and Irish HEIs active in the market.
- In conjunction with the Head of Education Services ASEAN, work on developing a strategy to ensure that there is a media presence before, during, and after any planned activity in the market.
- Accompany all relevant market activity with a strong social media presence.
- Monitor ongoing social media strategy that maximizes the impact and conversion of student interest in Ireland to applications to Irish HEIs.
- Proactive engagement with enquiries.
Brand Promotion
- Promote the Education in Ireland brand with a focus on the key messages around the advantages of studying in Ireland. This will involve regular presentations to students and faculty in High Schools and higher education institutions, education agents, education fairs, Team Ireland meetings, and cultural events.
- Profile the Irish higher education offering and relative match with the Indonesian market needs, identifying specific strengths and scoping out potential opportunities for showcasing the strength of Ireland’s education system.
- Identify & attend the best in-market Agent led Student Fairs across Indonesia to talk about the Irish education experience.
Supporting Ireland’s higher education institutions
- Build a database of reputable agents across the markets. Introduce qualified agents to Irish HEIs who represent a good match for the HEI.
- Arrange and lead regular briefing and training sessions for agents around the Irish Education experience.
- Identify opportunities for Ireland’s higher education institutions to showcase their offering in Indonesia, to accelerate student recruitment, and explore potential new partnerships.
- Advise HEIs with the development of their specific plans for Indonesia and provide practical on-the-ground advice for their visits to the market.
- Identify partner universities & schools in Indonesia for specific Irish institutions and provide support in the development of fruitful partnerships.
Education Missions / Market Visits
- Support the Project Managers of all Education in Ireland missions and Student Fairs in Indonesia.
- As instructed by the Head of Education Services ASEAN, work in close cooperation with the Irish Embassy, Enterprise Ireland appointed consultants and other State Agencies to ensure a complementary ‘Team Ireland’ approach to events and visits to the market.
- Support Enterprise Ireland & Education in Ireland on ministerial-led missions to Indonesia.
Diaspora & Alumni
- Engage with alumni of Irish HEIs and nurture their ambassadorial potential within their universities and localities, elicit testimonials, and invite them to participate in marketing strategies and online campaigns, ensuring the brand message remains intact.
Functional Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good presentation skills and fully bilingual (English / Bahasa Indonesia). This role involves representing Education in Ireland, the Government of Ireland’s national brand for education promotion.
- An understanding of the issues and trends affecting the education sector in Indonesian Market and the opportunities for Irish HEIs in promoting Education within the marketplace is essential.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the major issues impacting the business competitiveness of Irish HEIs in the Indonesian market.
- Proven ability to work on own initiative with demonstrated project management experience, including event management.
- Strong Sales & Marketing ability with a good knowledge of international business methods and sales processes in Indonesia.
- Experience and knowledge of business development with strong consulting skills and ability to assess and support business plans for HEIs to help them grow their presence in Indonesia.
- Experience in building networks and leveraging these networks to achieve commercial deliverables.
