We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Specialist to join our team and ensure the consistent quality of our products throughout the production process.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality control procedures to guarantee that all raw materials, packaging components, and finished products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting various tests, inspections, and analyses, as well as documenting and reporting findings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Raw Materials Inspection: Inspect and test incoming raw materials and packaging components to ensure compliance with quality specifications and certificates of analysis. Document inspection results and manage rejected materials.
  • In-Process Quality Control: Monitor and control the quality of products during various stages of production, from mixing and filling to packaging and labeling. Conduct regular checks and tests to ensure adherence to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Finished Product Testing: Conduct a range of tests on finished products, including but not limited to:
  • Physical and chemical analysis (e.g., viscosity, pH, color, stability)
  • Microbiological testing (e.g., microbial count, pathogen detection - if applicable)
  • Sensory evaluation (e.g., odor, texture, appearance)
  • Packaging integrity testing
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all quality control activities, including test results, inspections, deviations, and corrective actions. Prepare reports summarizing quality performance and trends.
  • Calibration and Maintenance: Ensure that all laboratory equipment and instruments are properly calibrated and maintained according to established schedules.
  • GMP Compliance: Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety regulations at all times. Contribute to the development and improvement of quality control procedures and documentation.
  • Deviation Management: Investigate and document any deviations from quality standards or procedures. Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Research & Development, Production, and Regulatory Affairs, to ensure product quality and address any quality-related issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in quality control processes and contribute to the implementation of changes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • OR SMK (Vocational High School) degree in a relevant field (Chemical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Technician etc). Significant practical experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in quality control within the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or food industry.
  • Strong understanding of GMP / CPKB / Halal regulations and quality control principles.
  • Experience with various laboratory testing techniques and equipment.
  • Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with specific cosmetic testing methods (e.g., stability testing, preservative efficacy testing).
  • Knowledge of ISO standards related to cosmetics.
  • Experience with quality management systems.
