Primary Responsibilities
- Assisting the Improvement Leader in identifying key measures by analyzing plant performance data.
- Partnering with plant operation personnel to secure process data for identification of technology gaps, improvement opportunities, and project definitions.
- Coaching plant personnel on measurements and daily updates of technology performance / asset utilization data.
- Actively participates in plant level safety improvement program.
- Identifying and prioritizing plant improvements that are aligned to the Global Molecule / Technology Strategies, for input into Plant Specific Technology Plan.
- Owner of the asset’s database on improvement projects, providing inputs and updates to accurately show the business and asset supported improvement activities.
- Partnering with plant personnel to solicit and collect improvement ideas.
- Championing the Plant Improvement Team and assuring proper set-up and use of global opportunity identification tools (e.g. databases to track ideas generated, and opportunities being explored)
- Validating improvement opportunities using global tools and assists in building the Plant Specific Technology Plan.
- Assisting the Improvement Leader to ensure implementation of Business-supported projects as identified in the Plant Specific Technology Plan.
- Assisting the Improvement Leader in the collection and analysis of data as necessary to validate that projects deliver performance objectives after implementation.
- Providing technical plant support in specialized areas including risk analysis and mitigation, root cause investigation, problem solving / troubleshooting, and process optimization.
- Assisting in managing Asset Utilization and project budgets.
- Participate in the plant Management of Change process, and assures that proper technical input is obtained for Management of Change approvals
- Part Owner and author of Plant Specific Technology Plan.
- Executes the Plant Specific Technology Plan, by means of the improvement work process, Six Sigma, Lean.
- Assures adequate Manufacturing Technology organization input into Management of Change for plant improvements and changes.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical, Biochemical, or equivalent.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Project Leader certification.
- Min 5 years’ experience in projects/manufacturing technology organization
- Certification in Six Sigma Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control
- Lean Value Stream Mapping to document, analyze and improve the flow of materials required to produce a product for the customer
- Technical diagnostic and problems solving skills
- Strong understanding of the process technology used by their assets
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and activities
- Proficient in the improvement work process including use of the database to identify, define, track and communicate plant improvement projects
- Proficiency in the upfront / front end loading steps of project execution best practices
