PT Indo Muro Kencana (IMK), a gold mining company located in Central Kalimantan, is seeking a Process Control Engineer to join our Processing Plant team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic industry while developing cutting-edge process control systems.

Position: Process Control Engineer

Location: IMK Site, Central Kalimantan

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain automation systems to ensure optimal operation of the processing plant equipment.
  • Develop and modify Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) programs to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics on control systems, identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimize process control strategies and ensure smooth plant operations.
  • Perform calibration, testing, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Provide technical support in standardizing PLC and HMI programming and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze system performance, recommending improvements to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all control system modifications, including PLC programming changes, HMI adjustments, and instrumentation configurations.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in automation technology to propose and implement innovative solutions.
  • Adhere to safety, health, and environmental regulations in all aspects of the job.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (minimum Diploma 3), with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
  • At least 2 years of experience in process automation, instrumentation, or a similar role in the mining or heavy industry sector.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider) and HMI development (e.g., Wonderware, WinCC, FactoryTalk).
  • Strong understanding of control systems, process instrumentation, and industrial automation principles.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining control systems in a processing plant environment.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, or Ethernet/IP.
  • Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), electrical schematics, and control system layouts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • PLC/HMI certifications or training (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley RSLogix) will be considered an advantage.
