We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to oversee mechanical design, automation, and manufacturing processes within our EV battery production facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, automation, and large-scale manufacturing, with expertise in leading cross-functional teams to drive innovation, efficiency, and reliability in high-tech production environments.
About the Role - Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and technicians to develop, implement, and optimize mechanical and automation systems for EV battery production.
- Collaborate with senior management to align engineering initiatives with business goals, ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Develop and implement best practices for mechanical engineering, automation, and manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
Development Phase
- Oversee the development and implementation of mechanical systems, automation solutions, and production equipment for EV battery manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control requirements in all mechanical designs and processes.
- Optimize existing mechanical and automation systems to improve production efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality.
Process Optimization & Automation:
- Drive automation and smart manufacturing strategies to enhance production capabilities and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement through data analysis, advanced manufacturing technologies, and lean methodologies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, controls, and software engineers, to integrate mechanical systems with automation and robotics.
Project Management & Collaboration:
- Manage engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely execution, cost control, and resource optimization.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and external partners to source and implement innovative mechanical and automation solutions.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure long-term reliability of mechanical systems.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all mechanical systems meet industry standards (ISO, ASME, IEC, etc.), regulatory requirements, and environmental compliance.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement robust testing and validation procedures for new and existing mechanical systems.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, automation, and manufacturing, preferably in EV battery production or high-tech industrial automation.
- Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and large-scale industrial projects.
- Strong expertise in mechanical design, thermal management, automation systems, and robotics integration.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.), FEA tools, and simulation software.
- Experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of EV battery technologies and materials is a plus.
