Accountant

Job Summary:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial information for our trading/retail operations. This role involves preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insights for financial decision-making, as well as maintaining accurate financial records through data entry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee and manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments and collections.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and monitor company performance against these budgets.
• Inventory Management: Reconcile inventory records with financial reports to ensure accuracy in stock valuation and management.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all taxation requirements, prepare tax returns, and coordinate with tax authorities as needed.
• Expense Management: Monitor and analyze expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize spending.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards within the retail industry.
• Data Entry: Accurately input financial data into the company’s accounting system, ensuring all records are up-to-date and reflect current financial status.
