JOB SUMMARY
A Group Sales Manager in a hotel is responsible for generating and managing group bookings, including corporate meetings, conferences, social events, and other large gatherings. This role involves developing sales strategies, building client relationships, and ensuring successful execution of group events to drive revenue and enhance the hotel's reputation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Group Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Provide exceptional service to clients throughout the booking process and during event execution.
- Develop marketing materials and promotional campaigns to attract group bookings and increase visibility of the hotel's group offerings.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including corporate clients, event planners, and organizations.
- Understand client needs and preferences, provide tailored proposals, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with clients to plan and execute group events, including room setups, catering, audiovisual requirements, and other event logistics.
Group Contracting & Negotiation:
- Negotiate and finalize contracts with clients, ensuring favorable terms for both the hotel and the client.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and secure group bookings, including corporate meetings, conventions, weddings, and other large-scale events.
- Review and manage contractual agreements to ensure compliance and address any issues that arise.
- Monitor and manage group booking revenue, including room rates, meeting space fees, and additional services.
- Implement pricing strategies and promotional offers to maximize revenue and occupancy for group events.
Event Coordination & Collaboration:
Coordinate with various hotel divisions (e.g., kitchen, housekeeping, front office) to ensure seamless event execution.
Sales Reporting & Forecasting:
Prepare reports and presentations to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and identify areas for improvement.
Lead Generation & Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through lead generation, networking, and relationship-building with potential clients and event planners.
- Track and analyze sales performance, including booking trends, revenue, and client feedback.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the hotel and generate leads.
- Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Sales/ Marketing.
Client Satisfaction & Guest Experience:
Address and resolve any issues or concerns that arise to ensure a positive experience for clients and their guests.
JOB QUALIFICATION
- Min Diploma or Degree with min of 2 years experience in same position
- Strong communications and presentation skills
- Good comprehension of English
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong contacts within the market
- Ability to create excellent working relationships with all levels within the hotel
- Ability to create action plan for the assigned industry and markets
