We are seeking a Senior Instructional Designer with expertise in aligning content with Bloom's Taxonomy and a strong understanding of IBM’s style and brand guidelines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality learning experiences that drive measurable outcomes and foster high levels of learner engagement. This role requires a creative thinker who can strategically approach content development to support learners at various stages, ensuring alignment with instructional best practices and corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Development: Design and develop engaging, learner-centered instructional materials across various formats (eLearning modules, virtual instructor-led training, blended learning, job aids, assessments, etc.) that align with IBM’s brand and style guidelines.
  • Learning Outcome Alignment: Utilize Bloom's Taxonomy to structure content that supports clear, measurable learning objectives and outcomes.
  • Instructional Strategy: Develop and implement instructional strategies that maximize engagement and retention, integrating adult learning theories, active learning principles, and interactive methodologies.
  • Assessment Design: Create effective assessments that accurately measure learning outcomes, enabling continuous improvement and adaptation of content based on learner performance.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs), project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure content accuracy, relevancy, and alignment with business goals.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and refine instructional content to ensure adherence to IBM’s quality standards, maintaining consistency, clarity, and engagement across all learning products.
  • Learning Analytics: Use data and feedback from assessments and learner interactions to evaluate content effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of instructional design experience in corporate or technology settings, ideally with familiarity in working with IBM or similar technology organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Bloom's Taxonomy in the design of instructional materials.
  • Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theories and best practices in content development for digital learning environments.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of data analytics in learning and development, with the ability to interpret data to optimize instructional content.
  • Familiarity with IBM’s corporate style and branding, including experience working within established corporate design frameworks.
  • Experience with gamification, simulations, and other innovative learning strategies that enhance engagement and knowledge retention.
