Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager (GM) of Sales to lead and oversee the sales strategy and operations at our logistics company. The GM of Sales will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing the sales team, and developing strategic initiatives to strengthen our market position in the logistics sector.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales leadership, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build relationships with key clients and stakeholders. This role will require a mix of strategic thinking and hands-on leadership to ensure sales targets are met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive business growth in alignment with company objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to achieve targets and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to ensure long-term business success.
  • Market Research: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and adjust sales tactics.

  • Sales Operations: Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring proper documentation, reporting, and forecasting of sales activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of sales experience in the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of sales professionals, with a track record of achieving sales goals.
  • Sales Expertise: Strong understanding of sales processes, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with senior-level executives.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess market trends, customer needs, and sales performance.
  • Technology: Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and prospects.
