The Climate & Energy Campaign Team Leader (C&E TL) serves as a Team Leader for Greenpeace Southeast Asia – Indonesia’s Climate and Energy team, overseeing and spearheading the strategic development, planning and implementation of the Climate and Energy campaign in Indonesia, with strong focus on energy transition, decarbonization of electricity sector and climate financing issues. He/she will assist Indonesia's Climate and Energy Campaign Manager in carrying daily team management.
The C&E TL will take a strategic role in the campaign team to implement the country work program and projects agreed upon between Greenpeace Indonesia (GPID), Greenpeace Southeast Asia (GPSEA), Greenpeace International (GPI), other National and Regional Offices (NROs), as well as the foundation donors, to support the achievement of campaign objectives and the implementation of campaign strategies in regards to rapid and just energy transition. This entails leadership in the work on identified provincial or sub-national priorities or targets; pioneering engagement, lobbying and networking in prioritized campaign areas, and lead actions against major national, regional and international political and financial institutions identified as campaign target/s.
As C&E TL, you will assist the Climate and Energy Campaign Manager (C&E Manager) to provide leadership in establishing a strong project portfolio that corresponds to the abovementioned strategy. You will also strengthen integration across project’s/departmental roles and ensure it is aligned with organization’s processes, which contributes to the ability of the Programme Department to achieve objectives aligned with the global, regional and national programme objectives.
As C&E TL, you will directly manage one campaigner and several project staff (contractors) that are needed in certain campaign projects, and you will ensure that their work contributes effectively and efficiently in order to achieve project objectives and deliver results.
As C&E TL, you will assist The C&E Manager in making regular decisions that impact on the overall effectiveness of the C&E campaigns in Indonesia.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational background, preferably in Science, Energy-related studies, Economics, Management, Communications, Community Development, or Social Sciences. Master’s degree is an advantage
- At least five years of experience in middle managerial/leadership positions in relevant Civil Society Organisations, and at least three years experience in conducting strategic planning and development.
- Leadership, management and communication abilities, commensurate with the need to lead & manage cross functional, cross cultural and multi lingual teams through the planning and implementation processes. This is to include demonstrated commitment to consultation processes and team delegation.

- An ability to analyze national energy trends and to plan campaigns to move Governments and international institutions towards a focus on renewable energy solutions.
- Excellent strategic skills in analyzing and planning strategies for the Climate and Energy campaign in Indonesia and demonstrated experience in the area.

- Knowledge of the environmental and social impacts of Climate Change and the science behind it.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Demonstrated experience in an environmental/activist organization (work on climate and energy issues is preferred).
- Proven ability to work both independently and in close coordination with a team.
- Preferred Skills
- Preferred skills include experience in key program areas: public speaking, activist training, leadership, strategic planning and organizing people around an issue.
- Experience in climate and energy issues.
