Job Description

  • Evaluate and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications provided by contractors to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards
  • Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems, includes but not limited to piping, turbines, boilers, and HVAC, to confirm compliance with design specifications and quality standards. Identify and address any issues promptly to maintain project integrity
  • Oversee the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring that all work aligns with project timelines, specifications, and budget. Collaborate with contractors to resolve technical issues during installation
  • Assist in the development and execution of testing and commissioning plans for mechanical systems. Verify that all equipment and systems operate correctly and meet performance requirements before handover
  • Provide engineering solutions to on-site mechanical issues, troubleshooting and resolving design and operational challenges in a timely manner
  • Work with the project safety team to enforce safety standards for mechanical installations. Ensure all mechanical work complies with safety regulations and industry best practices
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, approvals, and engineering decisions. Prepare regular technical reports and updates for the project management team, documenting project progress and any deviations
  • Act as a liaison between the owner's engineering team and contractors, facilitating clear communication and collaboration. Provide technical input and represent the owner's interests in mechanical-related discussions


The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years in mechanical engineering role within power plant construction projects, ideally with client-side or owner's representation experience
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems in power plants, including piping, boilers, turbines, and HVAC systems
  • Strong understanding of engineering design, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical engineering solutions in a high-pressure environment
  • Familiarity with engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage documentation and reporting efficiently
