We are looking for people who are willing to run a marathon, and, some sprints in between. The project is currently in the pre product-market fit phase, validating the market, problem, and solution space, to build our MVP and serve our beach head niche user base. I have a vision that I hope to share with you later on.

️Important disclosure to manage your expectations️The project's pathway is to be initially lean with good business model fundamentals (positive cash flow) with a chance to be scalable i.e., high-growth mode. Think of this initially as a side-project we would be working on together.

I myself have been supporting a growth-stage and VC-funded cloud service startup to effectively scale its activities, my background has been in strategy and finance (also leading some projects in marketing), with a keen mind in music and philosophy.

Role Description

This is a part-time hybrid role as the Tech Co-Founder & CTO at Silver Star. The CTO will be leading on software development, project management, IT strategy, and architecture. The role is located in Jakarta, Indonesia, but implements work from home. Face-to-face sessions shall be conducted intermittently as needed. Founder-portion equity ownership will be allocated.

Valued Abilities

• Experience in practical implementation of full-stack (front and back-end) CRUD software development, project management, and IT architecture strategy from 0 to 100 (experience in partial or segmented contribution to a software product is fine)

• Great knowledge of IT building blocks and how they fit together

• Great knowledge in designing and querying databases with e.g., PostgreSQL

• Good knowledge of cloud infrastructure resource management as per behavior of the digital asset e.g., if you were developing a high-availability, mission-critical, and large file-handling app, would you use a VPS, dedicated server, or a $10 per month web hosting? (its a joke!)

• Good knowledge of IT roles and skills profile in each of the software development component (for managing and delegating work)

• Good practical ability of some (not all) DevOps practices and tools e.g., Docker, Git, boilerplates

• Good practical ability of some (not all) Front-End frameworks e.g., JavaScript, React, Vue.js, Flutter, HTML, CSS

• Good practical knowledge of some (not all) Back-End frameworks e.g., Node.js, Express.js, Python, Ruby, Firebase, Go

• Ability to lead and inspire a team

• Great problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Good communication skills

• Experience in startups or local software development agencies such as Software Houses is highly valued

• Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in practical experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field

An Awesome Tech Co-Founder Candidate Would Have......

• Developed several, or a few (but deeply), CRUD software products or progressive web apps

• Practically been involved in this technical field for about 5-6 years

• Willing to spare 7.5 - 10 hours per week to this project

• Patience to run a marathon, yet, the conviction to ship products fast

• Resourceful; don't mind splitting your work with others a.k.a delegating

• Team-player and cares for humans

• Passionate about technology

• Enjoys the process of building things, not just the output

• Fairly fluent in English (as a lot of valuable learning resources are written in this language)

What the CTO Can Expect to Do

• Creating the MVP with monolithic architecture, with the principle of 'imperfect tech stacks', speed with acceptance of technical debt, in the form of progressive web app (front-end and back-end, you can have others assist you in this process; delegating work where needed to outside agencies, part-timers/interns, or future founding-team mates), you DON'T HAVE TO do it alone

• Design a good database

• Maintain, scale, and improve the back-end of the app as needed

• Develop the actions logic of app functions

• Managing cloud infrastructure and some basic SLAs & security

• The CTO will be the leader in IT architecture design and implementation

What the CEO Will Do

• Customer and product development from a use-case, value-creation perspective

• Marketing and user-acquisition

• Partnership development in support of business model

• Costing and operational finance

• Nurturing relationships with potential investors and fundraising where relevant

• SOP design and implementation of end-to-end company activities as the company grows

• Recruitment of future team members

• Charting the company's strategy & operations execution
