For the area of Operations Fiber, we invite experienced Operations Leaders with the determination to drive an important turnaround to submit applications for the role of Site Director for our site in Purwakarta, Indonesia
Purpose & key responsibilities of the role
The Site Director will have overall responsibility for South Pacific Viscose (SPV), a viscose production facility with a workforce of 1000+, running the day-to-day site management, leading strategic development initiatives, and taking ownership of restructuring and turnaround programs
- Drive organizational development and efficiency via performance management (including KPI-Management), with the aim of transforming our biggest viscose site into a modern company with empowered, engaged staff members
- Ensure the best possible safety standards in all areas in accordance with local laws, and motivate all team members to work on safety and accident prevention
- Develop production & process improvements at the site, ensuring operations at an optimum level in an economically viable mode: within budget (output, quality,...) and taking environmental & legal requirements into account
- Plan all relevant budget costs & production volume in coordination with all relevant departments; and implement permanent target tracking to facilitate continuously revised forecasts and updated plans
- Ensure that the company maintains all relevant certifications like ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & similar
- Lead, motivate and challenge employees and foster their development. Define succession plans, while also supporting continuous improvement activities
Your ideal profile for this exciting role
- At least 15 years' total work experience in operations-related leadership & complex management roles, preferably on chemical (or related process industry) manufacturing sites
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a similar technical field
- Ideally technical experience in managing a fiber production site, giving you the know-how and the confidence to to challenge the organization for the best solutions. International work experience and a global mindset would be a great advantage; a strong compliance mindset a must
- Inspiring driver of change for both multi-national and local teams, with a strong focus on site performance management, site restructuring, and transformation leadership, as well as a growth mindset for developing the local teams
- A mature manager who leads by example, walks the walk with respect, builds, develops & motivates high-performance teams
- Fluent spoken and written English skills mandatory (min. CEFR/ ALTE level C1/4); Bahasa language skills would be an advantage
- Srong stakeholder management skills (both internal external) and a flair for community engagement
- A high sense of urgency, as well as understanding of and compliance with safety, health and environment (SHE) standards, and a proactive approach to identifying and preventing problems
- The ability to manage sensitive coordination with the interests of the minority-Shareholder
