Head of Civil Engineering

The Head of Engineering (Civil) will be responsible for leading and managing all civil engineering activities within the company. This role requires a seasoned civil engineer with exceptional leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proven track record of successful project delivery. The Head of Engineering will oversee a team of civil engineers and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of projects while upholding quality standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of civil engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure professional development and high performance.
• Develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and objectives for the civil engineering department in alignment with the company's overall vision and objectives.
• Oversee the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, including site development, infrastructure, and construction, from conception to completion.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments to evaluate project viability and identify potential challenges or constraints.
• Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and construction drawings to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and project requirements.
• Monitor project progress, identify issues or deviations from plans, and implement corrective actions as necessary to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the civil engineering department to drive efficiency and excellence in project delivery.
• Establish and maintain effective communication channels with internal teams, external partners, and clients to facilitate collaboration, resolve issues, and address project-related concerns.

Qualifications:

• Must come from the roofing industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification required.
• 10 years of experience in civil engineering.
• Proven track record of successfully managing civil engineering projects from concept to completion, with demonstrated expertise in design, construction, and project management.
• Strong technical proficiency in civil engineering principles, practices, and software tools, with the ability to review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute plans, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing civil engineering projects, including zoning laws, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in engineering practices and project delivery.
