Our client is a leading nickel mining company with significant operations in Indonesia. Known for their high commitment to sustainable mining practices, they are expanding their operations in East Kalimantan and seeking an experienced Electric Furnace Head to lead their specialized team.

Job Description

As the Electric Furnace Head, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and optimization of electric furnaces and converters at our client's nickel processing plant. This critical leadership role will involve the following responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize the production processes for electric furnaces and converters, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
• Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring high performance and adherence to company standards.
• Drive continuous improvement projects related to furnace operations, including upgrades, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Implement and enforce safety policies in line with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
• Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term plans for production efficiency, cost reduction, and technological innovation.
• Work closely with other departments, including procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless operational performance.
  
  
  

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 15+ years of experience in nickel processing or similar metallurgical operations, with 5+ years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of electric furnaces, converters, and pyrometallurgical processes.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and operational excellence.
• Proven experience in project management and process optimization within heavy industry or mining.
• A solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is preferred.
