Job Description:
The Mechanical Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated systems for a small-scale, infrastructure BSF farming unit. This role requires expertise in integrating various control systems, sensors, and IoT solutions to ensure efficient operation and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, programming, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Design & Development: Design and develop automation systems for modular BSF units, including sensor integration, control panels, and PLC programming.
- Monitoring & Control Solutions: Implement sensors and control systems (temperature, humidity, and moisture monitoring) to optimize the rearing conditions for Black Soldier Fly larvae.
- IoT Integration: Develop IoT-based solutions for remote monitoring, data collection, and performance optimization of multiple farming units.
- Process Optimization: Analyze and improve the efficiency of waste input, feeding, and larvae harvesting processes through automation.
- Prototype Testing & Troubleshooting: Build and test prototype systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and iterate on design improvements.
- Documentation & Compliance: Create technical documentation, including system architecture, wiring diagrams, and operational manuals. Ensure compliance with local safety and environmental regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team to integrate automation with operational needs and infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, or related fields.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PLC programming and control panel design.
- Experience with IoT platforms (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32).
- Familiarity with sensors (temperature, humidity, weight) and their calibration.
- Experience with low-voltage electrical systems and safety compliance.
- Strong programming skills (Python, C/C++, or similar) for automation and data integration.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of farming, waste management, or BSF biology is a plus.
- Experience working on decentralized or small-scale systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks / AutoCAD for system design is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is preferred.
