Overview

Responsible for leading and managing all legal aspects (including legal risks) of the business, support and operation functions of the company and its affiliations, including providing strategic legal advice for the boards and keeping the company persistently in compliance with the international, regional, national and local laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing and/ or carry out legal advice and/ or opinions, in short, handling and/ or managing any legal issues on any of the company's existing and future: (a) business activities; (b) operations; (c) supporting functions; (d) corporate actions; (e) corporate planning; (f) intellectual property registrations and issues (including renewal); and (g) disputes (including its settelement, if any); including identifying (and providing solutions for any) implications to any internal policies, systems and procedures being adopted by the company.
  • Managing and supervising all litigation proceedings of the company in any region; advising the boards on the pros and cons of the case(s) and providing business-oriented legal solutions on the proceedings.
  • Managing, supervising, and if necessary, drafting and/ or reviewing any agreements and legal-related/ formal letters for the company to the best interest if the company.
  • Managing and liaise all external legal-related service provider, if any; Ensuring all budget are well vetted, calculated and well-executed.

Qualifications:

  • Should have a minimum 12 years' of experience in similar position, preferably from the following industries: (a) banking; (b) FMCG; (c) Logistic; (d) Supply Chain, (e) International Retail and/ or Distribution company; and having a bachelor's degree of Law from a highly reputable university. Holding a master degree from a highly reputable university will be an advantage.
  • Expert in corporate law, intellectual property, international trade, retail, distributions, labor law and export-import proceedings. Excellent law knowledge in energy, mining and manufacturing; Fast learner and an agile leader.
  • Fluent in english, the candidate's english reading, writing, listening and speaking skills must be at an advanced level. The candidate must have a keen customer and business orientation without overshadowing the legal necessities.
  • Candidate must be able to work under tight deadline while keeping a positive interpersonal skill, able to negotiate strategically, an effective communicator, and ultimately a conceptual thinking with an attention to details..
  • Candidate also will be required to have and maintain his/ her active advocate license, preferably from PERADI.
