Operations Manager

Z Bio is an insect-powered biotech start-up located in Denpasar. We are dedicated to addressing food resilience challenges and reducing methane emissions in Southeast Asia by producing sustainable protein sources for aquaculture and poultry livestock animals.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Operations Manager at Z Bio. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, optimizing processes, managing resources efficiently, and ensuring that production targets are met to support the company's mission.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Social Sciences, Management, or related fields.
• At least 2 years of managerial or leadership experience in waste management or community empowerment.
• Experience in project management, including field research and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in organic waste management or Black Soldier Fly (BSF) farming is an advantage.
• Skills in project reporting and administration.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct primary and secondary data collection.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including proficiency in English.
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects or operations simultaneously.
• Must own a personal laptop to support work activities.

Job Description

Operational Management:

• Oversee all operational activities in waste management, from collection to recycling or processing, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness at each stage.
• Ensure the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain work quality and safety.
• Manage and monitor the performance of the operational team to ensure all targets are met according to plan.
• Experience in organic waste management or BSF farming will be highly valuable in the bio-conversion process and waste management.

Project Management:

• Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of waste management projects, including personnel supervision and task coordination.
• Responsible for the entire project cycle, from data collection to final report preparation.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of each project.

Team Management:

• Lead and motivate the operational team, providing direction and solutions to operational challenges in the field.
• Ensure the development of team skills by providing necessary training and support.

Reporting & Communication:

• Monitor and regularly report on the progress of operations and projects to management and clients.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, local government, and the community.

Analysis & Optimization:

• Analyse operational and project data to identify areas for optimization to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Identify potential issues and develop innovative solutions for operational improvements.

Report Preparation:

• Responsible for preparing project and operational reports in both Indonesian and/or English.
• Process and analyse field data for use in developing operational strategies.

Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure all operations comply with relevant regulations, including waste management, workplace safety, and environmental standards.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks that could impact project smoothness.
