Application Engineer (FP)

The Application Engineer is responsible to serve as a technical consultant/advisor to Distributor/End Customers on Gates complete Fluid Power segment. This person needs to work effectively with Global solution team and confident in handling stringent and complex customer's requirement.

Your Responsibilities

The Application Engineer's specific responsibilities will fall into three primary areas:

Accountability #1:

• Lead end to end system engineering activities of Fluid Power segment including hydraulic, hose and pneumatics, Gates products selection, providing guidance to customer on system validation plan as required, and system troubleshooting
• Work with in country team to conduct site study on customer's environment, and data analysis.
• Development of technical proposals, value propositions, third parties offering with Distributors/Channel and end customers.
• Work with in country team to convince stakeholders on adopting Gates offering.
  
  

Accountability #2:

• Conduct quarter technology update/training to Distributors/Channel and end customers.
• Provide on-going support to Distributors and target customers as they upgrade their facilities to ensure customer satisfaction and garner new business
• Develop application expertise for direct selling to key stakeholders and influencers.
• Support post sales and product and quality issues.
  
  

Accountability #3:

• Review with APAC and Global system engineering team on new application offering.
• Engage the customer in new development initiatives. Assure accounts are "top of mind' within Gates for customer focus groups in new technology development. Solicit their support in serving as a beta site for new offers and a reference case for accounts with similar applications.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, major in engineering from a reputable university
• Minimum 5 years of field experience or hands-on practice specifically in the relevant field.
• Previous exposure in multi-cultural environment with MNCs
• Able to work in a team but also independently with little supervision
• Good customer relation skills to assure that our product solutions is reliable with technical data
• Good analytical, interpersonal and communication and presentation skills.
• Commercially driven for technical products, strong negotiating and time management
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
• Proficient in latest MS-Office tools, web-usage and web-based tools
