What will you do:

  • Research and Development: Conduct thorough research on mycelium materials exploration, edible mushroom development and spawn standardization. Design and execute research experiments, studies, and tests to explore new concepts and validate hypotheses.
  • Reports and Documentations: Prepare comprehensive reports, technical documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and project status to Team Leader.
  • Quality Control: Establish and implement quality control procedures to ensure the consistency and reliability of products.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept from lab up to pilot scale to assess the properties, feasibility and performance.
  • Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with other departments, such as product development, engineering, and design, to ensure material specifications meet product requirements.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze experimental data, and prepare detailed reports to document findings, improvements, and recommendations of intellectual property.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all products and processes comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • ⁠Identify and collaborate with procurement and suppliers for raw materials and other resources necessary for cultivation and material production.
  • ⁠Support projects in other department (if needed and limited support only)

Requirements:

  • ⁠A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as biology, microbiology, biotechnology, materials science, chemistry or related disciplines
  • ⁠Minimum 2 years of hands-on research experience in a lab setting, particularly in fields like materials science, microbiology, or related fields
  • ⁠Experience with mycelium cultivation, fungal biology, or biomaterial development is highly desirable
  • ⁠Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing processes
  • ⁠Fundamental microbiology techniques
  • ⁠Experimental design, data analysis, statistics and scientific reporting.
  • ⁠Intellectual property knowledge
