Indonesian Customs manager

Key Accountabilities

Monitor daily import/export operations, work closely with logistics team and customs broker to ensure the customs clearance process smoothly.

Execute controls to align with risk-control framework and guidance from centers of expertise to resolve cross-border issues.

Determine Indonesian HS CODE classification and build up the HS CODE database.

Set up standard operational procedure (SOP) for routine import/export activities.

Manage and conduct import and export audits/reviews in accordance with guidelines set by Global Trade Compliance office. Conduct business meetings on critical areas and put measurements in place that address non-compliance.

Ensure updated knowledge with regards to local customs and trade regulations. Analysis internal impact, provide plan or actions steps for implementation.

Site trade/customs policies/regulations and regional trade agreements update to headquarters (HQ) to establish Global Trade Policy database.

Manage customs broker regarding Customs Clearance activities as per SLA and KPI designed, complete broker performance audit periodically.

Provide and maintain data record for local Customs and trade compliance evaluation program.

Provide customs solutions to particular projects/matters.

Manage and provide training to the business on International Trade Compliance matters that ensure compliance and maintain ‘best practice’ .

Build up communication channel with multi-tier Customs authorities and maintain good relationship with them.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience;

Customs declarer certificate;

Minimum 5 years’ experience in the areas of customs, import/export, experience in home appliance industry is preferred;

Familiar with international trade, customs clearance process, processing trade manufacturing, HS classification and bonded goods management... etc.;

Fluent English and local language in both written and verbal, Chinese language is a huge plus.

Highly collaborative – ability to excel in a team environment；

Preferred Qualifications

3 Years’ experience in the areas of customs, import/export, operations in bonded factory；

Certified as Customs Broker License；

Experience executing and ensuring trade compliance operations of Free Trade Agreement (FTA), Duty Draw Back and Free Trade Zone operations is a plus.
