As a Material Planning Specialist, you will manage the raw materials functional team within the site supply chain at Cikarang. Your primary responsibilities include ensuring the timely supply of raw materials for production and meeting inventory days KPI targets.
Key responsibilities
- Review and utilize MRP exception monitoring to execute the material planning process effectively.
- Expedite purchase orders with overseas suppliers and monitor import documents via the system.
- Ensure that eligible raw materials have sales tax exemptions and manage CJ5 applications, including renewals and new applications.
- Expedite open purchase orders with suppliers, confirming arrival dates and necessary documentation.
- Generate and review PO overdue reports to track all open POs.
- Ensure receipt of shipping details and documents for incoming shipments, and confirm firm delivery dates with suppliers.
- Monitor and closely follow up on raw material arrivals.
- Provide summaries and schedules for incoming raw materials to the warehouse, QA, and planners.
- Manage importation tasks, including liaising with forwarders, compiling shipping documents, and updating estimated arrival times in Promix.
- Coordinate local deliveries by confirming dates with suppliers and updating the system.
- Handle internal requests, including issuing release letters and managing incoming and empty container logistics with the warehouse and forwarders.
- Coordinate interplant transfers between Cikarang, External WH, and Karawang.
- Analyze data independently to determine actions needed to meet material planning targets and objectives.
- Identify risks and inventory holding costs due to order changes and recommend solutions.
- Collaborate with suppliers, procurement teams, and relevant stakeholders to determine effective material levels for production.
- Drive efficiency through consolidation and optimized ordering from suppliers, including VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory).
- Manage inventory accuracy, safety stocks, excess and obsolescence, and aging and slow-moving stock.
- Plan STO (Stock Transfer Orders) as part of the material purchase process.
- Resolve accounts payable queries related to POs and STOs.
- Review weekly reports to address aging stock actions for SLE and consumption.
- Challenge forecast accuracy and address any deviations in demand with the supply planner.
- Coordinate and manage incoming torn bag claims with vendors or supply sites.
- Provide monthly forecasts to vendors as necessary.
- Develop contingency plans to address ad hoc issues such as quality and shipment delays.
- Perform ad-hoc projects and other duties as required.
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 2 to 5 years of working experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of ERP, MRP, and SAP systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities, with a knack for identifying issues and developing practical solutions.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all aspects of material planning and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and build positive relationships with team members and external partners.
