Job Summary
The Operations Manager for the Maker Space at Labyrinth Collective will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Maker Space facility, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources, compliance with safety regulations, and high-quality output. The role involves managing Maker Space staff, coordinating maintenance, and implementing processes to optimize productivity and operational excellence.
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the workshop, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor and maintain equipment and facilities to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
Staff Management:
- Supervise and support workshop staff, including training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to enhance team performance.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to minimize workplace accidents and hazards.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage the workshop budget, including forecasting, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely procurement of materials and supplies.
Quality Control:
- Monitor the quality of work produced in the workshop, ensuring it meets company standards and client expectations.
- Implement quality control measures and address any issues or discrepancies promptly.
Project Coordination:
- Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of workshop operations with broader organizational goals.
- Manage project timelines and ensure timely completion of workshop-related projects.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in workshop operations and implement strategies for enhancement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions into workshop management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control processes.
- Proficiency in using operational management software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
