JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

The Operations Manager for the Maker Space at Labyrinth Collective will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Maker Space facility, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources, compliance with safety regulations, and high-quality output. The role involves managing Maker Space staff, coordinating maintenance, and implementing processes to optimize productivity and operational excellence.

Operational Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of the workshop, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment and facilities to ensure they are in optimal working condition.

Staff Management:

  • Supervise and support workshop staff, including training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to enhance team performance.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to minimize workplace accidents and hazards.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Manage the workshop budget, including forecasting, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely procurement of materials and supplies.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor the quality of work produced in the workshop, ensuring it meets company standards and client expectations.
  • Implement quality control measures and address any issues or discrepancies promptly.

Project Coordination:

  • Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of workshop operations with broader organizational goals.
  • Manage project timelines and ensure timely completion of workshop-related projects.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for improvement in workshop operations and implement strategies for enhancement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions into workshop management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control processes.
  • Proficiency in using operational management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
