About the Company
Gunadarma University is a private higher education institution (PTS) founded on April 3, 1996. This university, known as Gundar, is one of the private universities specializing in technology and communication, with a focus on good university governance. Initially, it started as the “Gunadarma University,” originating from the Computer Science Education Program (PPIK) in Jakarta, established on August 7, 1981. Three years later, it changed its name to the School of Informatics and Computer Management (STMIK) Gunadarma. Following that, the School of Economics (STIE) Gunadarma was established in 1990, specifically on January 13, 1990.
Subsequently, both of these colleges introduced the Master’s Program in Information System Management in 1993. STMIK and STIE Gunadarma officially merged to become Gunadarma University based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education (DIKTI) Number 92/Kep/Dikti/1996, issued on April 3, 1996. The official establishment of Gunadarma University also paved the way for the creation of four new faculties: the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, the Faculty of Industrial Technology, the Faculty of Literature, and the Faculty of Psychology. In 2000, they also introduced a Doctoral Program in Economics, followed by the opening of a Doctoral Program in Information Technology in 2002, with approval from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Republic of Indonesia.
Gunadarma University has been accredited as “Excellent” (Unggul in Indonesia) based on the Decree of the Executive Director of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
