About the Company

PT Bank Raya Indonesia Tbk traces its roots back to its founding by the Plantation Pension Fund (Dapenbun) on September 27, 1989, initially under the name PT Bank AGRO. Shortly after, on December 11, 1989, BRI Agro obtained a business license from the Minister of Finance and commenced commercial operations on February 8, 1990.

 

In 2003, the bank embarked on a new chapter by transitioning into a public company following its initial public offering on the Surabaya Stock Exchange. Concurrently, the bank rebranded to PT Bank Agroniaga Tbk. By 2007, the bank's shares under the AGRO stock code were listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. In 2006, it elevated its status to a Foreign Exchange Commercial Bank.

 

The acquisition of shares of PT Bank Agroniaga Tbk took place on March 3, 2011, between PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) and Dapenbun in Jakarta. By 2012, BRI officially became the Controlling Shareholder of PT Bank Agroniaga Tbk, coinciding with the bank's 23rd anniversary. Consequently, Bank AGRO was renamed PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Agroniaga Tbk, commercially known as BRI Agro.

 

BRI Agro has been proactively collaborating with BRI to enhance its digital ecosystem, evidenced by the launch of its first digital loan, PINANG, in 2019. Demonstrating its commitment, the company continues to synergize with BRI.

 

Since 2021, Bank Raya has undergone transformation into a Digital Bank, appointed by BRI to become the leading Digital Bank for Agri and Beyond, serving as the House of Fintech and Home for the Gig Economy. Its focus lies in catering to SMEs across the country.
